2013: A Look Forward

2013 looks like an exciting year for new releases!  Here are some of our most anticipated: 2013 books 1.22.13 Boundless (Unearthly #3) by Cynthia Hand – SOooo excited for this one! And just in time for the Dark Days Tour! –Jane 1.29.13 The Madman’s Daughter by Megan Shepherd, due out January 29 from Balzer + Bray, just because it looks so cool. I might regret it later but for now, I’m still excited. –Alethea 2.5.13 Etiquette & Espionage by Gail Carriger: Being a huge fan of her Soulless series, I’m glad she decided to write another series set in the same universe. Thankfully, I only have to wait till the first week of February for this one. –Roxana Scarlet (Lunar Chronicles #2) by Marissa Meyer – I read Meyer’s first book Cinder in one sitting.  It left readers with such a cliffhanger that I can’t wait for the February release of the second book in the series. –Aly 2.12.13 I’m really looking forward to Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys.  I’m sure it’ll prove just as wonderful as Between Shades of Gray (our highest rated book of 2012). –Jane Like Jane I am also eagerly looking forward to the release of Ruta Sepetys’ Out of Easy (February 2013).  Sepetys is an amazing writer and I hope this will be as well written as her first book Between Shades of Gray. –Aly 2.19.13 Fuse by Julianna Baggott: This is the sequel to Pure, a novel so deeply dystopian that I can’t compare it to any of the other many, many dystopians I read this past year. I am extremely curious to know where this story will go, but I’m almost afraid to find out. –Roxana 3.5.13 Center of Everything by Linda Urban (release 3/15) – I love Urban’s books and excited for any book that she releases. –Aly Let the Sky Fall by Shannon Messenger, due out March 5 from Simon Pulse. I am a serious sucker for books with elemental powers (think Avatar: The Last Airbender), and not a lot of authors write them well–but I have an inkling this one will be worth a shot. Positively pre-ordering this puppy! –Alethea 4.23.13 Quintana of Charyn (Lumatere Chronicles #3) by Melina Marchetta – still one of my favorites… just as brilliant as Kristin Cashore’s Graceling and Fire! –Jane 6.4.13 Siege and Storm (The Grisha #2) by Leigh Bardugo, due out June 4 from Henry Holt & Co. Cannot. Wait. –Alethea 8.27.13 UnSouled (Unwind #3) by Neal Shusterman is due out this October and I’m extremely curious to see what happens with a certain character that was introduced in UnWholly. Whatever his fate ends up being, it’s got very slim chances of being even remotely dull. –Roxana
